Simpson College

This morning was a positive one for the Norse, winning 9-0 against Simpson College. This was a great match against a fellow conference foe to increase the Norse record to 4-0 and 2-0 in IIAC conference play. The Norse stretched their lineup today playing some younger guys who made their home debut in conference play. This includes freshman James Ayer, Cole Heule, Aaron Ford, and sophomore Jason Knutson. This was a great opportunity for the freshman to play some conference competition and learn the ins and outs of the IIAC conference. The Norse were successful in all three doubles matches with the following scores:
Whiteley/Piepkorn (LUT) def. Adam Summitt/Alex Hook (SC) 8-5
Zinnecker/Van Heest (LUT) def. Noah Saunders (SC) 8-4
Warden/Krebsbach (LUT) def. Dylan Hogan/Luke Haack (SC) 8-5

The Norse were challenged in all six singles matches with one match going to a ten point tie-breaker for the third set. Up and down the lineup, the guys competed well and gained valuable playing time that will surely come in handy later in the season. The line up went like this:
Zinnecker (LUT) def. Summit (SC) 6-2, 6-4
James Ayer (LUT) def. Hook (SC) 6-0, 6-3
Tyler Van Heest (LUT) def. Sanders (SC) 5-7, 6-0, 10-6
Chase Krebsbach (LUT) def. Hogan (SC) 6-0, 6-2
Jeff Rosner (LUT) def. Haack (SC) 6-2, 6-2
Sean Brown (LUT) def. Schneidek (SC) 7-5, 7-5

This was a great match for us, but this afternoon the Norse face off against UW Lacrosse who is ranked #16 in the ITA Central region. The Norse are looking to revenge a loss against them last year where we lost 6-3. Starring in the afternoon will be Scott Sundstrom who is currently ranked #23 in the nation. Get down to the SRC if you can!
